He worked for the City of Hollywood Fire/Rescue for 26 years, retiring as a Driver Engineer in 2007. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an easy going guy who loved working with (and cooking for) his Brothers and Sisters on the HFD. People that truly knew Paulie will agree that he had a huge heart. He was someone you could always count on, willing to help anytime it was needed. But, most important of all, he was a wonderful, generous and loving husband, uncle, brother and godfather. We are so blessed to have had him in our lives and we can't imagine what life is going to be like without him. He may be at peace now, but we are left behind, in pain, missing him every minute and wishing we could hit a "do over" button.
Paul is survived by his wife, Terri (Mrs. Paulie), his brother, Larry Watson (Linda) of Millville, New Jersey, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynda and Ronald Riggs of Cooper City, nieces, Stephanie, Danielle and Brooke, nephews, Ron, Chris and Billy, great niece, Kylee, great nephews, Ethan and Timmy, and his goddaughter, Samantha, whom he loved as if she was his own daughter.
On behalf of Paul, the family wishes to thank the Brothers and Sisters of the Hollywood Fire Department for their outpouring of support and concern. They truly are a "Class 1" department in more ways than one. A special thank you must go out to Retired Hollywood Firefighter and longtime friend, Robert Madge, who has been there from the beginning with unwavering support and love for Paulie and who continues to offer his help in any way to make a devastating time just a little easier for Paul's loved ones. We are lucky to be a part of the HFD Family.
There will be no services, but if you would like to make a donation in his memory to either the South Florida Wildlife Center in Fort Lauderdale or Cats Exclusive in Margate, I know it would mean a lot to him.
