Peter Stanley Kubinski, 84 of Brooklyn passed away on April 25th, 2025, in Pembroke Pines Florida. Peter was born May 14, 1940, at Brooklyn Hospital to Edward and Josephine Kubinski. He served in the United States Navy and was a proud Navy veteran who served in the Persian Gulf on the USS Caperton, a Fletcher Class Destroyer. He married his beloved Ann Garcia on June 9th,1963. During his Navy career he spent 6-months dry docked in Naples Italy and toured most of country. We suspect that is why he loved his local Umberto’s Italian Restaurant. Peter always said they were from New York and from Italy, so it was very authentic. After the Navy, Peter worked as a refrigeration mechanic in New York City, carrying his toolbox on the subway to his jobsites. Years later, he and Ann, along with their children would move to South Florida where Peter worked for YORK Air Conditioning, eventually running the State of Florida in a management position. He also obtained his mechanical contractor’s license and many of the older high-rise buildings in the South Florida skyline were built under his license. Peter was a dedicated husband and father, and a true fighter to the end of his life.
Peter is preceded in death by wife Ann Garcia Kubinski.
Peter is survived by his two children: Son, Michael Kubinski (Wife, Deanna Kubinski), and Daughter, Deborah Ann Nevarez. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Alexandria Nevarez, and Danielle Nevarez (Husband, Kevin Novalski)
The Kubinski and Nevarez family wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the Alexander Nininger Veterans Nursing Home for their unwavering support and extraordinary care provided to our father.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 10:00 am on May 10th, 2025, at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024.
In lieu of flowers, contributions/donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on behalf of both Peter and Ann Kubinski.
