Peter F. Schwarz, 77, of Davie, Florida, passed away on June 25, 2022, in Davie, Florida. A beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Linda Schwarz; son and daughter-in law Peter and Michelle Schwarz; son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Margaret Schwarz; daughter Jennifer Schwarz; and, grandchildren Alyssa Schwarz, Rylie Schwarz, and Jacob Schwarz. Peter was born in Queens, New York on September 26, 1944, to Horst and Ethel Schwarz.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Horst and Ethel Schwarz and sister Barbara Hollister.
Peter had an infectious smile and sharp wit and touched countless people with his kindness and relatable personality. Peter was proud of his blue-collar work ethic and ability to fix just about anything himself. He worked as a lineman for New York Telephone and Southern Bell before becoming a highly-skilled industrial electrician at the Miami Herald Publishing Company.
Peter served in the U.S. Army and was proud of his service and of his country. He supported many service organizations through his generous charitable contributions. As such, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Disabled American Veterans (ihelpveterans.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
A celebration of Peter’s life will be scheduled in the future.
