

Renato was born in Bovino, Italy, to Attilio and Marta Bonassisa De Pompa on December 1, 1949. He attended school in Bovino, Italy, East Orange, New Jersey, and Davie, Florida. He married Sandra Rogers on December 28, 1974 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Renato studied art and photography at Broward Community College before working in the field. His numerous photographic awards include earning first place in the 1975 Minolta Creative Photography Contest with his photo providing the cover for the photography book. He continued to win photographic recognition which included publication in "Popular Photography," "Time," and "Newsweek." He also won several top prizes in the Miami Photo Guild. Ron later began working in photofinishing and photo specialties including model composites, restoration of old photos, and large canvas art. This work was done at Flamingo Photo which was located at Pines Boulevard and University Drive.
Survivors include Renato's wife, Sandra; his eldest son, Brad De Pompa and his wife, Ximena Frias, of Sunrise; and his younger son, Todd Alan De Pompa and his wife, Elizabeth Donahue, of Plantation, Florida. His grandchildren include Olive Donahue, Lyla De Pompa, and Trent De Pompa. He is also survived by four sisters and brothers including Angelo De Pompa, Valerie Bombara, Lucia Baechle, and Attilio De Pompa, Jr.
