

Dr. Richard Edward Neumann, 93, of Pompano Beach, passed away on December 15, 2014. Richard, born in Lima, Ohio on September 10, 1921 was the son of Grover and Mildred Neumann. He was a graduate of Heidelberg College and Princeton Theological Seminary. He was Pastor Emeritus at the First Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. After retiring from First Presbyterian Church, he worked for Florida Presbyterian Homes, Lakeland, FL where the dining room is named for him and his wife, Ruth. He is a former Rotarian, a Kentucky Colonel and a Mason. He was an orchid and rose grower and a member of the Ft. Lauderdale Duplicate Bridge Club. He spent many summers at his Apple Chalet in Waynesville, NC. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth. Survivors are his children: Kirk Neumann and wife Nicki, Karen Duckett and husband Jeff, Jim Neumann and wife Trish. Grandchildren: Chris and wife Missy, Jon and wife Brittany, Kristina and husband Daniel, Stephanie, Laura and husband Shawn, and Melissa. Great grandchildren: Fox, Olivia, Landon and Nathan. In accordance with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service led by Tim Dobbins will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20 at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, 401 S.E. 15th Avenue. Cremains will be interred at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen, OH. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church - Ruth and Richard Neumann Loving Care Fund for homeless, hungry, and sick. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service. Arrangements entrusted to Fred Hunter Ft. Lauderdale Home.
