Robert “Dustin” Gold, 73, of Hallandale Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday November 14. Dustin was beloved by many and will be honored with a memorial service officiated by Rabbi Anthony Fratello at Fred Hunters Funeral Home.
Dustin was born in the Bronx, New York on January 20, 1949. He had a long, successful career in mortgage brokering and money lending for several decades. He loved connecting with people through his work and chose to work every day right up until the day of his passing, often conducting business from the golf course. In addition to golf, he enjoyed frequently playing tennis as well as curating a robust art collection and sharing daily jokes with his friends and loved ones. Dustin is survived by two children: Zachary Gold, 29, of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Courtney Gold, 27, of Raleigh, North Carolina. His eldest, Ashley Gold Barton, passed away in 2006 at the age of 20 in Winter Park, Florida. Dustin is also preceded in death by his brother David Gold and sister Lila Riefberg, as well as parents Harriet and Nathan Gold. Dustin will be remembered by loved ones for his humor, mentorship, generosity, and passion for making new connections.
