Roger Bertram Boardman, 79, of Davie, FL passed away on October 15, 2018. Born on February 15, 1939 to Bertram and Laura Annie (nee Cocker) Boardman in Selly Oak, Birmingham, England, he was one of three children. Roger served in the British Army - rank PTE as a Driver B lll, B lV, B lll, ACE 3rd class Toolmaker full term from 1958 to 1960 before beginning a career as an Architect Engineer retiring at Perko. Roger has resided in South Florida for over 50 years and was a member of the Miami Yacht Club - Where he served on the Board of Governors, taught sailing, served on the Race Committee, and ran the popular Wednesday night beer can racing series.
Roger is survived by his children, Tony B. Boardman and Christina Louise Norris husband (Jeff) Norris; granddaughters, Starr, Dallas & Sommer Norris and her fiancé Alvaro Trueba; and his nieces, Louise and Joan Shepherd; and his brother Steve Boardman. He was preceded in death by his mum, dad, and sister, Alwyn Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Miami Yacht Club, 1001 MacArthur Causeway, Miami, FL 33132, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. The family requests guests to wear Sailor, Beach, or Poolside Attire.
