Born in Nuevitas, Cuba on July 11, 1927, a daughter of Jose and Serafina (Ortega) Hernandez. Raised and educated in Cuba, Rosa and her family came to the United States in 1956, settling in Hollywood. Before her retirement in 1990, Mrs. Acuna worked for Motorola Corporation in Plantation, Florida for many years. She was a member of the Plantation Baptist Church.
Her beloved husband, Manuel E. Acuna died in 2006. Survived by her loving children, America "Meky" (Jack) Bales and Ray (Shirley) Acuna, her devoted grandchildren, Ray Acuna, Jr; Gregory J. Acuna and Heather Wittaker. Also survived by her adored great grandchildren, Erica, Jennifer, Whitney and James Acuna and Jacob Wittaker.
Visitation on Monday, February 16th from 12:00 P.M. ~ 1:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street Hollywood. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Mrs. Acuna will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hollywood Memorial Gardens following the service.
