Salvatore A. Garcia, 97, of Hollywood, Florida passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday morning, January 6, 2011. Born in Rincon, Puerto Rico on August 1, 1914, son of Juan and Eustaquia (Acevedo) Garcia. Mr. Garcia served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He was a recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. A resident of Hollywood for many years, Mr. Garcia was a communicant of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Hollywood. Survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Librada (Pagan) Garcia, his loving children, Norma (Wilfred) Muniz, Carmen (Jose) Remis, Hilda Bernales and Frank (Idalia) Garcia, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation on Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Funeral Home 2401 SOUTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE, DAVIE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9th at 11:00 A.M. at the Little Flower Catholic Church, 1805 Pierce Street, Hollywood. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens~Hollywood.
