Samuel Fleming Jr. was born on November 17, 1973 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was the oldest son of Samuel Fleming Sr. and Margie Mae McDuffie.
Samuel Fleming Jr. graduated from Dillard High School in June of 1993 and went on to enlist in the U.S. Army on January 31, 1998. Upon his graduation from basic training, he was assigned to the 3rd squadron, 7th cavalry regiment, 31D at Fort Stewart, Georgia as a shift leader. During his 19 years of service, SGT Fleming served in multiple leadership and food service positions at Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort Hood, Texas; South Korea and Hunter Army Airfield, GA. He deployed twice to Kuwait, once at Bosnia, twice to Iraq and once to Germany in support of multiple operations. During his years of service he received numerous awards and was a highly decorated U.S. Army enlisted personnel. At the time of passing, Samuel Fleming Jr. was preparing to retire from the U.S. Army having completed 20 years of active duty.
Samuel Fleming Jr. is survived by wife Acondria, 2 daughters, Sametria and Samiyah, and 2 sons, Ke'Andre and Samuel III as well as 4 siblings, Tara, Tabitha and Frank.
