

Shirley was born on April 19, 1936 to Helen and Herbert Lee Knowles and was raised in Miami, Florida. In 1952, she married Richard Wetz, the love of her life. They had two sons, Richard and Donald Wetz, and dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother. She was a generous, hard working, loyal, strong, and kind woman. Shirley was an amazing cook and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Family came first and was above all else to her, a value that she instilled in all those around her. She overcame adversity and loss throughout her life, persevering with grace.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Richard, mother Helen, father Herbert Lee, brother Jimmie, sister Barbara, and daughter-in-law Linda. She is survived by her two sons Richard and Donald, daughter-in-law Toni, grandchildren Stephanie, Nicole, Sami, and Presley, great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Katie, and Austin, and many loving nieces and nephews. Shirley had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Although the hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill, her family finds comfort in knowing that she will be reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.
There will be a viewing from 5 pm to 7 pm, with a service immediately following, on Monday, August 23 at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024. A procession on Tuesday, August 24 at 9:15 am will start at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Hollywood and travel to Vista Memorial Gardens, located at 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014 for her burial service.
