Steve was a truly extraordinary man and was admired by everyone who knew him. 
Steve we’re going to miss your hello’s, the smiles, laughter and that unique humor of yours. You were more than a neighbor, you became a special part of our family. Our bond started with Lucky and continued for all these years. We’ll miss the long conversations outside our townhomes, the steak dinners, fish and fries from Ocean One, Claudio’s potato salads and those relaxing evenings with a few Heineken’s.

SteveO!!!  I'm still in disbelief. Such a remarkable individual with a lager than life personality, a unique perspective of life, and the most colorful sense of humor I have ever met. Steve and I were neighbors. Last year he did some interior painting for me, and I enjoyed his company immensely. We chatted while he worked and I considered him a good friend ever since. RIP Steve. You will be missed. Condolences to your family and friends.

Steve Matanis is hero Charlie Matanis’ brother.

I have many memories of Steve and I doing what teenagers do best, living a fun and exciting life, causing minor trouble and avoiding the consequences thereof.

During the past nearly four years of the ongoing trauma I face in Japan, and the current fourth kidnapping of my children, people whom I thought I was close to never responded to the terror that I continue to endure.
Yet, Steve took the time to contact attorneys, and attempted to calm me when I prepared to do wrongful acts.

STEVE-O, I don’t know if there is a heaven, and I pray there is no hell, but if there is a heaven, it got a bit brighter when you showed up, and the jokes and related musings began to flow anew.

I love you Steve, and I hope that you and Charlie are finally hanging out together.

My dear friend. What a shock i got when i heard of your sudden passing. We never see it coming. It's a shame you were alone. I wish i was with you when you collapsed so i could possibly save you with CPR and a 911 call. I will miss our Friday night hour meetings before my going to play D&D, drinking Hinneys and talking sports and many other things. Good-by my party buddy. LIfe will never be the same without you.
