Stuart "Fide" Fernandez

Stuart Fidel Fernandez, 65, of Miramar, Florida, passed away on August 12, 2024, in Pembroke, Florida.

Stuart, affectionately called Fide by his closest family, was born in Havana, Cuba, to Alberto and Candelaria Fernandez on January 8, 1959. He received his education in West New York, New Jersey, where he grew up. He was happily married to Liliam. For decades, he was self-employed as a painter and supported charities for children and adults on the Autism Spectrum.  He truly enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. 

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Liliam Fernandez, daughters Kelly McDonald and Monique Fernandez, sons Michael and Christopher, granddaughters Isabella, Oakley, and Teagen, brother Alberto and his wife Norma, and nephews Albie and Adam and their spouses and children.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida. A private cremation will follow. 

Stuart’s family wishes to thank his friends and neighbors who demonstrated their love and care during his unexpected illness. Their support and friendship were a source of comfort during a difficult time, and we sincerely appreciate them.
