Teodor Cristea

Mr. Teodor Cristea, Sr. of Hollywood, Florida, passed away at his home in Beverly Hills Condominium on Thursday, November 20, 2014 under the loving care of his family, American Eldercare and VITAS Healthcare. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Teodor Cristea Sr. was born in Luguzau-Silindia, Arad County, Romania on Thursday, March 3, 1938, the only son of Teodor and Maria (Blaj) Cristea. In April of 1983 Teodor and his wife, Iuliana emigrated to the United States settling in Miramar, Florida, joining the family of Iuliana's sister, Sida Nicula and her husband Dumitru "Don" Nicula. Teodor and Iuliana's young adult children, Mr. Teodor "Doru" Cristea, Jr. and Ms. Lucia "Luci" Husar followed them a few months later, in August 1983. Teodor was able to find meaningful employment as a lead member of the groundskeeper crew of the Star Lakes Condominium Association in Miami, FL.

He retired from that job that he loved dearly and was greatly appreciated for, as he suffered from a stroke on March 5, 1998, two days after his 60th birthday, which left him paralyzed on the right side of the body and unable to speak beyond a few simple words. His wife, Iuliana, with help from the family, took it upon herself to care for him with great devotion and diligence, giving him almost 17 years of quality of life and making it possible to be part of family life for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, other life events, including his two grand-daughters graduating from high-school, entering college, and one even graduating from college already.

He will be remembered as a man of few words, but plenty of quiet and benefic action for his family, co-workers, and fellow believers. He professed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and received the adult baptism through immersion on Sunday, October 7, 1984, the first baptism service for the newly formed First Romanian Baptist Church of Hollywood, FL, pastored by Dr. Teofil D. Talpesh. Together with his son, Teodor Cristea Jr, they contributed, literally, to the building of the foundation for the sanctuary of the church, now know as New Life Romanian Baptist Church of Florida. He shared many wonderful moments with his co-workers, especially at lunch time, sharing Romanian sausage, ham, and "sarmale" (stuffed cabbage). He loved his light blue Chevy Lumina 4-door car, washing it every Saturday, and making it sure it was shining under the South Florida sun. He enjoyed the most, the task of giving a ride to his two grand-daughters, Anamaria and Christine, to and from daycare, then kindergarten, and even 1st grade elementary school.

He was very proud of his family and full of joy and love, as the pictures has shown, to his beloved wife of 60 years, Iuliana; to his son, Teodor "Doru," "Teddy" Cristea Jr, his wife Miorika "Mary," and their son, Teodor "Teddy" Cristea III, who was still-born to this Earth, but full of life to the Eternal - whom he is seeing now; to his daughter, Lucia "Luci," "Lucy" Husar, her husband, Mircea "Mitch" Husar, and their two children, Anamaria and Christine Bethany; to his cousin Helen Pascuts, after wife Iuliana lineage, to his cousin Marion, her husband Roger and their family, after same lineage and many others.

Visitation and wake services on Friday, November 28th, , 7 pm at Fred Hunters Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. Funeral Service are to take place on Saturday, November 29th at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Garden Cemetery North, 3001 N 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL.

D-l Cristea Sr a g?'sit un loc de munc?' ca i muncitor la echipa de ntreinere a complexului de apartamente, Star Lakes Condominium, n Miami, FL.

S-a pensionat pe motiv de boal?', de la serviciul pe care l-a ndr?'git, i pentru care a fost apreciat, ntruct a suferit un atac de cord la 5 martie 1998, eveniment care l-a l?'sat paralizat pe partea dreapt?', i incapabil de a comunica prea multe. Atacul de cord s-a petrecut la doua zile dup?' ce a mplinit 60 de ani de via?'. Soia lui, Iuliana, s-a d?'ruit pe sine ins?'i n a-l ngriji, cu abnegaie i ataament, d?'ruindu-i astfel aproape 17 ani de via?' n plus, fcnd posibil ca el s?' participe n viaa de familie, la onomastici, zile de anivers?'ri, s?'rb?'tori, alte evenimente deosebite, inclusiv serbarea de absolvire a liceului - pentru cele dou?' nepoate, admiterea la facultate, i chiar absolvirea facult?'ii, deja, pentru o nepoat?'.

El va fi pomenit ca un om care n-a vorbit prea multe, dar a lucrat n mod t?'cut i linitit nspre a fi de folos familiei, colegilor de serviciu, frailor i surorilor de la biseric?'. A m?'rturisit de Domnul n apa botezului pe data de duminic?', 7 octombrie 1984, primul botez oficiat - la ocean - de c?'tre fratele pastor Dr Teofil D Talpe, pastor al noii biserici, Prima Biseric?' Baptist?' Romn?' din Florida. mpreun?' cu fiul s?'u, Cristea Teodor Jr, au lucrat, literalmente, la stabilirea fundaiei l?'caului de nchinare al bisericii cunoscut?' acum ca i New Life Romanian Baptist Church of Florida. I-a pl?'cut s?' mp?'rt?'easc?' cu colegii de la servici, la pauza de prnz , din merindea lui, n mod deosebit, din crnai i unc?', sarmale - romneti. i-a iubit automobilul lui, Chevy Lumina, masina cu patru ui, de un albastru deschis, pe care a sp?'lat-o n fiecare smb?'t?' dimineaa, dorind s-o vad?' str?'lucind sub soarele din sudul Floridei. I-a pl?'cut foarte mult s?' duc?' cu maina pe cele dou?' nepoate ale lui, Anamaria i Christine, la c?'min mai nti, apoi la gr?'dini?', si chiar la coala, clasa I.

El a fost foarte mndru de familia lui, plin de bucurie i dragoste, cum s-a v?'zut n fotografii, fa?' de Iuliana, soia lui timp de 60 de ani de c?'snicie, fa?' de fiul lui Doru, soia lui, Miorica, i copilaul lor, Teddy Cristea al 3-lea, care dei a fost n?'scut lipsit de via?', este plin de via?', n cer - i pe care-l vede acum - acolo sus, n venicie, fa?' de fiica Luci, soul ei, Mircea Husar, i cele dou?' fiice ale lor, Anamaria i Christine Bethany, fa?' de verioara Helen Pascu, dup soia Iuliana, fa?' de verioara Marion, i soul ei, Roger, dup?' soia lui Iuliana, i muli alii.

Serviciul divin de priveghi va avea loc Vineri, 28 noiembrie 2014, 7 p.m., la casa funerar?' Fred Hunters, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL, 954-989-1550.
