Thelma A. Wright was born on April 27, 1935 in Summerville, South Carolina to Thomas and Kathleen Hutchinson. She was the 6th daughter from this union. Thelma attended Alston High School. She met and married Bradley Wright Jr. in Miami, Florida on June 8, 1956. From that union they had three children: Diana Hutchinson, Lorraine Chance (deceased) and Bradford Wright. Thelma worked at M.W. Manufactures, Inc. until she retired. Coming out of retirement she worked part time as a teacher assistant at Carol Daycare.
Thelma A. Wright was a very generous individual; if a person had a need (be it food, clothing or financial) she was always willing to render assistance. Thelma gave to many charity organizations (Food for The Poor, Kid Wish Network, Smile Train, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, People United for Christians, Inc.)
She had a wonderful sense of humor that attracted young and old alike. She was very feisty and young at heart. Although Thelma loved to laugh and made people laugh; never take her meekness for weakness because she would let you know that she didn't like a certain situation and once she said what's on her mind she goes back to loving you.
After dedicating her life to the Lord at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in 1959, she served in the Cathedral choir and Hospitality committee. On Thursday, June 02, 2016, Thelma went home to be with the Lord.
Thelma leaves loving memories in the hearts of her children: Diana Hutchinson, Lorraine Chance (Deceased) and Bradford Wright, Daughter in law: Shirley Wright, Grand children: Jobernia Wyche and Ramon Palmer, Great granddaughters: Janell Lightbourne and Annetta Francis, Brother: Richard Hutchinson, Sisters: Gertrude Myers and Barbara Ann Samuels, brothers and sisters in laws and hosts of family and friends.
