Valerie Moore

On September 9, 1967, a baby girl named Valerie Louise Moore was born to Willie Brookins (preceded in Death) and Mildred Brookins. Born in Belle Glade, Florida she was reared at early age in Lake Harbor, Florida. Later, Valerie and her family moved from Lake Harbor to Harlem, Florida. At a very early age, Valerie was introduced and taught about our Lord and Savior developing a strong faith and love for God’s word through her childhood through adulthood. Growing up in her family’s home Valerie was indoctrinated that education and GOD was the key to unlock many of life’s doors. Her early education began at Rosenwald Elementary and Clewiston Elementary schools, then onto Clewiston Middle and High schools. After graduating Clewiston High School in the Class of 1985, Valerie set her sights on obtaining her college degree. Making sure she made her family proud, Valerie walked across Florida Memorial University stage earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

In 1998, God orchestrated Valerie meeting Anthony Peters in Miami Florida. After dating for some time, they were married and together parented three children: Sha’Niyah, Robert and Lauren.

With a strong work ethic, she worked in various industries like Banking and County Government. In 1994, Valerie began her career in Miami Dade County Government. She started in the Solid Waste department and in 2003 promoted to the Building Code Compliance team. And, in 2010 she landed in the Animals Services Department where she was promoted through various positions becoming a Senior Human Resource Manager under Animal Services.

Valerie is survived by her loving family: Husband, Anthony Peters (Miami), her Children Sha’Niyah Harper, Robert Peters and Lauren Peters (all of Miami). Her Mother Mildred Brookin (Clewiston), Father: Willie Brookin (preceding her in death), her Sisters Beverly (Debra) Moore (Clewiston), Michelle Mutch (Lakeland), Tammy Coleman (Lehigh Acres), Wanda McKenzie (preceding her in death), her Brothers: Ronald Moore (Tallahassee), Willie Coleman (Clewiston) and Zachary Brookin (Jackie) Ft. Lauderdale, her Sisters-in-Law: Rhona Peters (Nigeria), Patricia Peters (Nigeria)  Her Brother-in-Law Henry Peters (Nigeria). Her Aunts: Clara Driver (Memphis TN), Stella Moorer (Charlie, preceding her in death) (Clewiston), Emmadora Burnette (Archie, preceding her in death) (Clewiston), Jesse Moore (Clewiston), Annabelle Brookin (Ft. Lauderdale), Mary Thornton (West Palm Beach), Margeta Taylor (Jamaica), Susan Hudson (Connecticut). Her Uncles Fred Moore (Clewiston), Stanford Taylor (England) Her Nieces:  D’Asjiah and Dasany, Naewanda, Dannye and Daniece Her Nephews: Marcus, Alexander, D’Vontae, Gabriel, Noah, Jeremy, Emmanuel, DeVonte’, Rico and TyJai Her Great-Nieces: Layla and Lauren,  Her Great- Nephew: D’Vontae Jr.  Three Godchildren: Carrissa Brannen, Jahvaris Fulton, and Ajhanae Gray,  Three Best Friends Forever: Lenesia Cooper, JaVonne Williams and Sybrina Fulton. And, leaving to cherish her memories:  A host of sorrowing Cousins, Co-workers, Friends and Classmates.
