

Violet graduated from Simon Gratz High School and worked for the United States Navy in Philadelphia. She married Robert Vincent Harley, on November 23, 1944 in Philadelphia.
Violet and her husband are survived by their three children, Mary Jane, Patricia, and Robert Jr. Violet enjoyed six grandchildren, James, Kristine, John, Stephen, Kelly and Daniel, and two great grandchildren, Ethan and Annaleigh.
Violet and Robert moved several times as the result of Robert's career with Phillips Petroleum Company. They finally settled down in Plantation in 1979. Violet was an active member of St Gregory Catholic Church and Plantation Seniors. She enjoyed the Red Hats Society, playing Pokeno, and most recently, her friends at Five Star Residences.
Family was very important to Violet and she spent most of her time visiting with family in Florida, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Holidays were celebrated with her children and grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the beach when family visited her during the summers. She loved hot tea, and her desserts, and she was no stranger to Macy's.
Violet lived a long and healthy life, and unfortunately succumbed to cancer after being diagnosed just one week prior.
Viewing and prayer service are scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2017, at Hunter's Funeral Home in Davie, FL, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Mass will be celebrated at St Gregory's Catholic Church, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon, followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
