William was born Tarrytown, N.Y.to Fred and Pearl Wheeler on January 22, 1934. He went to Fanwood school for the Deaf at White Plaines NY he married Mildred E. Reinke on May 3rd, 1952 in Flushing, NY He worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for Eastern Airlines for 25 years. He was involved in Broward County Association for the Deaf. Received from Governor Jeb Bush the Point of Light award.
William is preceded in death by wife Mildred, Father Frederick, Mother Pearl.
William is survived by Daughters: Rhonda Buckner and husband Pete Sullivan and daughter Donna Mecklem and husband Lester. Sister: Phyllis Stanley, Grandchildren: William Buckner IV(Rick) and wife Janeth, Millie Mecklem, Leslee Mecklem, Great- Grandchildren: Alex Mecklem, Kassidie Schaad, Rhonda Buckner Jacob Schaad and William Buckner V(Rickey). Niece Suzanne Velasquez and Nephew James Regan
