

Anthony Sicola, age 88, died peacefully February 1, 2026. He was born to John and Anna Sicola on September 9, 1937. Anthony, affectionally know as “Nino” by his family and friends, will be missed by all that knew him.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Sicola, his sister Frances Sicola DeMarco, brother-in-law Anthony DeMarco, and his sister-in-law Josephine Sicola. He is survived by his sister, Bernadine Sicola Karr; his brother, Joseph Sicola; his niece Anna Sicola Brady (Tom); his nephews, Steven Karr (Donna), Paul DeMarco (Jacqueline), David Karr (Amber), and John DeMarco (Amy); and many great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved him very much. Anthony’s life was centered around his family and he will be greatly missed by them.
Anthony, a native of Bisacquino, Italy, immigrated to the United States in 1951 and worked with his father and brother in a family run business, Beco Sundries, located on 3rd Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Adamsville, Alabama. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Aerie No. 972) where he had many friends. Anthony loved attending church service, gardening, and playing card games with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and always found a way to make you laugh.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church located at 1728 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama, 35209 with visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and funeral service from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A private family service with burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Anthony’s name be directed to the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham, Alabama.
