Bertha "Babs" B. Hutchinson

Hutchinson, Babs Barinowski died Saturday, August 16, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in 1930, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Barinowski. She attended Mary Baldwin College and the University of Alabama. A member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Babs was a loving mother and grandmother and devoted her life to Christ.

Babs was predeceased by her parents; her husband of over 50 years, Samuel James Hutchinson, Jr.; her sister, Sophia Barinowski Seibels; and grandchildren, Jettie Neal Collins and Samuel James Hutchinson IV. Survivors include: her brother, Robert; her five children: Jimmy (Stephanie), Robert (Dee Dee), Erin, John Otey and Neal (Ginny). Babs was also beloved by 9 grandchildren: Heather, Carly, Kelley (Alex), Grace (Tommy) Abbie (Hutch), Andy, Cile, Virginia and Spence; and five great-grandchildren: Haley, Graham, Nate, Mac, and Ollie.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday, August 21 at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
