Betty B. Hollis

Betty Barnes Hollis died peacefully on August 22, 2016. She was born on March 18, 1926. Known to her beloved Family as "Ma", she was the devoted wife of Morris W. Hollis for 69 years. While she was active in many endeavors for her 90 years, nothing was more important to her than her husband. She instilled wonderful values in her family that we can only hope to pass on to the next generations of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the church parlor with the funeral service following at 12 noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1400 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209.

Betty is survived by her husband Morris, daughter Marie H. McElheny (Terry), son Morris Whitsett Hollis, Jr., granddaughter, Allison McElheny (Stuart Jeff), grandson John H. McElheny (Leslie), and six great-grandchildren: Mo Jeff, Nelly Jeff, B.B. Jeff and Abby McElheny, Miles McElheny and Reid McElheny.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St Martin's in the Pines, 4949 Montevallo Road, Birmingham Alabama 35210, the Sylacauga City Schools Foundation, 43 North Broadway Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35010, or the First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga, 105 East Spring Street, Sylacauga, Alabama 35010 .
