Betty Sims Wallis ("Mimi/Grandmother") age 91 of Ensley passed away December 20, 2020. She was born to Earlene Wester and Edwin Ross Sims, July 31, 1929 and grew up in Ensley and was a graduate of Ensley High School. Mrs. Wallis attended Ensley Baptist Church and was baptized there at a very young age, she went on to serve as the church secretary, and a member of the church for over 70 years until the church stopped having services in 2005 when she started attending Vestavia Hills Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wallis is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years James Benjamin Wallis, her daughter Janice Wallis Fulks and her sister Margaret E. Sims.
Mrs. Wallis is survived by her son James (Jim) Wallis and his wife Laura. Grandchildren, Benjamin S. Wallis and his wife Madeline, Heather Irvin and her husband Brian, Allison Tomaszewski and her husband Matt and 4 great grandchildren Alexandria, Bailey, Ryleigh, and Cooper Irvin.
Due to COVID there will be a private family service honoring the life of Mrs. Wallis conducted by Dr. Gary Furr.
