Bobbie R. Walton

WALTON, BOBBIE ROBBINS 94, formerly of Birmingham, AL, passed away on July 24, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Abbott B. Walton, son A. Brand Walton, Jr., and sisters Jewel Yelverton of Jasper, Daphne Robbins of Jasper, Gladys Reed of Anniston, and Evelyn Dickinson of Birmingham. She was born February 18, 1918, and was a 1939 graduate of Auburn University (Alabama Polytechnic Institute) with a major in Home Economics. She is survived by her daughter Robin Walton Blitz (Jeff) of Montgomery, daughter-in-law Louise Walton of Birmingham, and grandson Bryan B. Walton (Liza) of Miami, Florida. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Elmcroft Assisted Living in Montgomery for their wonderful care for the past three years, Debi Erickson and her staff of sitters, and Vista Hospice. A private burial for family members will be July 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL, with a memorial service for friends and family at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Chapel Funeral Home, 1802 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL. In lieu of flowers, any memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society, 1150 John Overton Drive, Montgomery, AL 36110; Easter Seals Dogs on Call Program, 5960 E. Shirley Lane, Montgomery, Al 36117, or to any animal charity of choice .
