Brenda Joyce Tillman

Brenda Joyce Tillman, 77, peacefully passed on April 22, 2026. Born July 12, 1948, in Galax, Virginia, Brenda Joyce Yates entered the world alongside her identical twin sister, Linda Lois Yates, and was later joined by a younger sister, Judy Carol Yates. Brenda’s life was marked by steadfast faith and a devoted spirit, expressed through the care she extended to those around her and the constancy with which she showed up for family, friends, and community. She was a member of Faith Bible Methodist Church in Columbus, Ga., where her faithful presence reflected the values that guided her life.

Beloved by many, Brenda was known as a mother, a wife, a sister, an employee, and a friend—roles she carried with quiet dignity and generous heart. She found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures: cooking, pets, golf, and, most of all, spending time with friends and family. In these everyday moments, her devotion was evident, and her generosity of time and attention left a lasting imprint on those who knew her.

Brenda is preceded in death by her husband Dean Odell, husband Arthur Lee Kent, husband William Tillman, and her twin sister, Linda Yates Gordon. She is survived by daughter Bonnie Odell Campos and her husband Alex Ever Campos; and her sister Judy Carol Chambers, her husband Larry Chambers; Terri Chambers Dunaway and husband Brian Dunaway; and son James Bradley Chambers and wife Krissy Chambers and their sons Aiden and Isaac Chambers. She is also survived by Renea Swiney Cloud and Ken Cloud; Renea's children, Alexander Allmon and Ashley; and dear friends Melissa Powell and Shelia McCrady.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Bible Methodist Church, 5506 Armor Road, Columbus, Geaorgia 31909, on May 24, 2026, at 11:00 am.
