Calvin Marvin Howard, (83) born August 19, 1937, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 17, 2020. He was a true Christian. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles Edward Robert Howard and Gladys Franklin Howard, his brother, Charles Franklin Howard and his beloved wife of 57 years, Vivian Harper Howard.
He is survived by his three daughters Beth Howard (Brooks) Yeilding, Becky Howard (George) Allen and Brooke Howard (Darrell) Gibson, his seven grandchildren Jared (Emily) Fuqua and Jake Fuqua, Reid Allen and Harper Allen, Shae (Morgan) Gibson and Hannah Gibson, and Farrah Karimi, and his greatgrandson, James Calvin Fuqua, all of whom loved him dearly. He is survived by his sister Aneda (Dronnie) Chandler, his sisters-in-law Josephine Howard and Frances Harper, and his nieces and nephews.
He was an active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and service to the Lord was a large focus of his life. He was a lifelong learner and was a graduate of West End High School, the Auburn University College of Engineering, Cumberland School of Law and the Beeson Divinity School.
A memorial service will be held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. There will be a private family burial service at Lawley’s Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Dawson Preschool Ministry.
