Charles Charlie Frederick Wahl

July 15, 2013 – Sept. 21, 2013

Charlie Wahl never sinned. He returned to his Father in Heaven on September 21, 2013 after a life-long battle against a rare and progressive cardiopulmonary disease.

Charlie is survived by his loving family, mother Katie Wahl, father Brian Wahl, brothers Alex and Bibb Wahl, grandparents Lex and Vicki Wahl and Bibb Lamar and Clara Leder Ladd Lamar, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Charlie’s family will always treasure the brief time they had with him on this Earth, and they look forward to a day when they can be reunited.

The Wahl family offers a special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Alten and his world-class team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, other healthcare providers and staff at Children’s of Alabama’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. We love you the same way you loved Charlie.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Children’s of Alabama (www.ChildrensAL.org/Foundation). Gifts in Charlie’s honor should be specifically directed to the CVICU.
