

Dean passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011, at age 43. Dean was preceded in death by his father Harry D. Niesen of Pelham; aunts, Mrs. Jean Prevatte and Mrs. Molen Poole of Troy, uncle Bobby Pope of Dothan, and cousin Ronald Pope of Dothan. Dean is survived by his mother Mary Jane Niesen of Pelham; sons, Nick Niesen and John Niesen of Homewood; their mother Amy Niesen; brothers, Alan Niesen (Aimee) of Johnson City, TN, and Dave Niesen (Beverly) of Perdido Bay, FL; nieces , Christy Bonner (Brad) of Tallassee, AL; Reed Niesen and Reagan Niesen of Johnson City, TN; nephew Matt Niesen of Montgomery; great nephews, Collier, Cole, and Drake Bonner of Tallassee, AL, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dean was loved by all and will be sadly missed. Dean was born in Montgomery and grew up in Anniston. He loved to play guitar and was great in baseball, where his primary position was pitching. He pitched a perfect game in little league and was selected as an All Star every season he played. Dean earned his Bachelor of Accounting degree from Birmingham-Southern College, Master of Business Administration from Samford University, and was a graduate of Birmingham School of Law. He was a banker and was currently Vice President in the Trust Department of Bancorp South. Dean was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood. Funeral service will be held on Monday with visitation at Ridout’s Valley Chapel on Oxmoor Road in Homewood from 12 Noon till 2:00 P.M., followed by service at 2:00 with burial immediately following at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The Rev. Andy Wolfe of Trinity UMC and the Rev. Billy Harris of Anniston will be officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Parris, Butch Parris, Mike Gullage, David Allen, Jerry Sills, and Randy Rigsby.
