Diane Eleanor Lunsford

Diane Eleanor Lunsford of Mountain Brook, Ala., died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the age of 77. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Diane grew up in Mountain Brook. She graduated from Shades Valley High School, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Psi sorority. She attended the University of Alabama and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority.

Diane was a member of South Highland Presbyterian Church and the William Speer Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former member of the Junior Women’s Committee of the Birmingham Symphony and City Federal Savings and Loan Association.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and John Lunsford of Birmingham. She is survived by a sister, Joan Lunsford Clark of Birmingham; and four nieces and nephews, Katherine Clark (Brandon) of Pensacola, Fla., Lawrence Clark (Liz) of Birmingham, Alex Clark (Sibylle) of Leicester, England, and Anna Clark Velasco (Eric) of Birmingham.

The family will receive visitors from 10 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 20 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road in Homewood, and a funeral service at Valley Chapel will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children, P.O. Drawer 577, Talladega, AL 35161.
