Born on September 24, 1930 in Goodwater, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Robert Elwood Adamson and Doris Virginia Graham Adamson.
Doris attended the University of Alabama and was a longtime employee of Southern Research as a Biochemist. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling all around the world with her friends. A member of First United Methodist Church, Doris also enjoyed serving as a volunteer with the Salvation Army and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents and by her brother and is survived by nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation on Wednesday, the 14th of August from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, burial will be held at Mt. Olive First Baptist Church Cemetery in Goodwater, Alabama.
