Dorothy Duke

Dorothy was a long time member of Episcopal Church of the Ascension. Dorothy and Frank loved to travel and were avid Auburn fans. They were season ticket holders and never missed a home game until his passing in 1998 and then Dorothy continued to go to games with other family members. She loved working for the Jefferson County Board of Education at Gresham Jr. High from 1977 until her retirement in 2003.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Frank Madison Duke, her sisters: Lucille Wainright and Shirley Nail and a great grandson Daniel Scott. She is survived by her children: William M. Duke, Leigh Ann (Mike) Scott, Scott N. Duke and Mary Kellie (Ted) Kelley. Also left to treasure Mimi’s memory are her grandchildren: Ashleigh Coulter, Matthew Scott, Katie (Jonathan) Gibbons, Noah Scott, Garrett (Brittany) Kelley, Madison Kelley and Mary Colby (Jesse) Tarver and by her great grandchildren Emmery Scott, Landon Coulter and Millie Tarver.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 beginning at 1:15 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at Episcopal Church of the Ascension. Burial will follow at Acton Memorial Cemetery.
