Frances Inez Barriger

Frances Inez Barriger was born on July 27, 1930 and passed away on October 6, 2012. She graduated from Howard College (Now Samford University) and taught school for over 30 years. Miss Frances as she was fondly known was a member of East Lake United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was devoted to her family and delighted in taking trips with them.

Miss Frances was predeceased by her parents: George and Inez Barriger and her brother in law Thomas W. Repass. She is survived by her sister: Wade Repass; nephew: Thomas W. Repass, Jr (Londy); niece: Jodie Parker (Jim); great nieces: Amy Vozza (Tyson), Julie Koon (Jon); great nephew: Blake Repass (Elisha) ; aunt: Ione King and by several cousins. The family would also like to thank the staff at St. Martin’s in The Pines and St. Vincent’s East hospital for excellent care.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 9th beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel with the funeral service following at 11:00a.m.

The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Frances Barriger, be made to the East Lake United Methodist Church, 7753 First Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35206.
