Helen E Phillips

Helen Phillips Carter, Proceeded in death by her husband James Guy Carter, passed away on May 5th, 2017. Mrs. Carter is survived by her sister Dora Phillips Peters, Sylacauga, Alabama, fourteen nieces and nephews, and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.

A native of Birmingham, she attended local schools; ACIPCO Grammar School, Phillips High School, Massey Business College, Troy State University, and U.A.B. for specialized training in Circulation Management.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Advent, Birmingham Genealogical Society, Alabama Historical Society, and the Birmingham Civitan Club; going through the Chairs to become the first female President of "The Mother Club of Civitan International". Mrs. Carter was also member of "The Club", the Dragon Dance Club and the Gourmet Club.

A celebration of her life will be held 3:00- 5:00 on Wednesday, May10, 2017 at Ridout's Valley chapel in Homewood.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Vincent's Hospital.

The Honorary Paul barriers are; James Morris Peters of Sylacauga, William Franklin O'Nihill, of Birmingham, Joe Phillips of Sylacauga, George Phillips of Birmingham, Joe Phillips of Birmingham, and Jim Philips of Birmingham.
