

Lee was born on July 18, 1926 in Birmingham, the son of Freda Crum and Francis Marion Taylor. He served in the military during World War II, and graduated from Auburn University in 1949. He worked for many years at CAPCO Pipe Company in Birmingham, retiring as vice president for marketing.
During his long illness, Lee remained a source of inspiration and comfort to his family and friends for his unwavering high spirits and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susan Farley Taylor; sisters Frances Taylor Eitson of Birmingham and Alice Taylor Bradford of Alexander City; children Kathy Taylor of Birmingham, Wes Taylor and wife Cindy of Birmingham, and Leanne Taylor Luther and husband William Luther of San Antonio: and grandchildren Cole Taylor, Maggie Taylor, Adrian Luther and Brady Luther.
Visitation will be held 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Bold Springs Presbyterian Church on Cahaba Valley Road in Shelby County.
His family wishes to express their gratitude to the very special caregivers and hospice workers who helped care for Lee during his last few months: Stevie West, Danielle Clinton, Cynthia Christian and Holly Morgan.
