Mr. Jack L. Hill, Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, the 11th of February 2021 at the age of 84. Born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 3, 1936, he was the son of James Oliver Hill and Gertrude Bailey Hill.

Mr. Hill was a longtime member of the Vestavia Church of Christ and was a graduate of Shades Valley High School. He started his working career with Standard Brands, Inc. in January of 1957 in Tupelo, Mississippi. After moving to Birmingham, he worked for Alabama Complete Foods and retired from Sysco Food Service after 53 years of service as a salesman working for the same company all his life. Mr. Hill served in the United States Air National Guard and was stationed in Drew, France during the Berlin Crisis.

Jack was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jimmy Hill and Donald Hill. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte Olive Hill. They were married on November 30, 1957 at the Downtown Church of Christ in Columbus, Mississippi. He is also survived by his two sons, Jack L. Hill, Jr. (Teresa) and John O. Hill; and three grandchildren, DeAnna Hill Meads (Greg), Jack L. Hill, III, and Isabella Hill.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation on Monday, the 15th of February from Three O'clock in the afternoon until Five O'clock in the afternoon at Ridout's Valley Chapel located at 1800 Oxmoor Road in Homewood, Alabama. Graveside services will be held privately for the family at Elmwood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401).
