

James Wesley Hunt, age 88, of Homewood, Al passed away on March 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn B. Hunt; mother, Ethel D. Hunt; father, Robert H. Hunt and brother, Kenneth D. Hunt. He is survived by a son, James D. Hunt (Dagmar); two daughters, Suzanne L. Hunt (Bill Preston), Jane H. Bell (Hue), as well as four grandchildren, Nicholas J. Hunt, Shawn C. Hunt, Hunter R. Bell and Hayden B. Bell; great-granddaughter, Annastacia M. Hunt. Mr Hunt was along time member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Homewood. He was a 1942 graduate from Phillips High School, followed by attendence at the University of Alabama and Mississippi State University. Among his many achievements, Mr. Hunt was a member of the American Legion; a Civil Air Patrol Officer, a veteran of World War II. Mr. Hunt retired after 20 years with the Alabama State Department of Industrial Relations. Mr Hunt recieved several Employee of the Month Awards along with other State of Alabama Awards. A graveside will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Ridout's Valley Chapel. In lieu of Flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing.
