

"Mother, Mimi, Aunt Jane, Jane" is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Phil Randall Dorn; parents,
Hugh Joseph Doran and Clara Reed Doran; sister, Dorothy Doran Goldstein (Willie); brother, Paul Nesbitt Doran (Betty);
and grandson, William Randall Taylor. She is survived by 2 children, Dorothy Cheryl Dorn Taylor (Richard) and
Phil Randall Dorn, Jr. (Joy); grandchildren, Dawson, Ran, Betsy (Dan), and Stewart; special nieces, Gail Allen Perry
and Bari Allen Jacobs (Mickey); nephew, Paul Nesbitt Doran (Connie); 5 great and 7 great-great nieces and nephews; and Harvey Allen's (Pop's) girls.
Jane's family moved to Alabama in 1922 where she graduated from Shades Cahaba High in 1937.
A member of Hypatia Honor Society, Jane graduated from Howard College in 1941. Mrs. Dorn taught 4th grade at Edgewood
from 1959-1982 and penmanship on educational television. Her family was active at Canterbury United Methodist where she was married in 1945. Jane was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class for over 50 years. She belonged to The Club, DAR, Delta Kappa Gamma, AAUW, Salvation Army Auxiliary, Birmingham Historical Society, Homewood Historical Society, Samford Auxiliary, Hill Toppers, Pacesetters, and Red Maple and Hill & Dale Garden Clubs. Jane enjoyed her family and traveling 6 times around the world with her sister. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 5, 2015, at Elmwood Cemetery.
