Jean Marie Farris Alexander

Jean Marie Farris Alexander, age 86, passed away on April 11, 2016 at her home. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Genevieve Alford Farris, sister Frances Farris Matthews, husband Jack Wingate Alexander, and daughter Jean Alexander Coffee. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Alexander Wiygul (Jimmy), grandchildren Harrison and Maggie Wiygul, son in law Dick Coffee III, all of Birmingham, AL, sister in law Martha Alexander Bowling of Brookhaven, MS, brother in law Joe Alexander, Jr. of Wapakoneta, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was a lifelong resident of Birmingham, AL and attended Phillips High School and David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. She was a member of The Palisades Church of Christ. Jean was a talented artist but primarily a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The family would like to thank Alacare Hospice and especially thank Tate Neuville, Sonia Shook, and Jackie Patton for many years of friendship and loving care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood AL from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by a graveside service at 11:30 at Elmwood Cemetery.
