Jeanne P Reid

Jeanne P. Reid, of Birmingham, AL passed away on January 1, 2021 after a long battle with Dementia. Jeanne, born Norma Jeanne, on November 1, 1931 to Newman Hilliard Pannell and Mary Elizabeth (Mimi) Trafford Pannell of Homewood, AL immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Jeanne was a graduate of Shades Cahaba High School in 1949. She married Joe W. Reid on May 23, 1951 and was married for 59 years until his death in 2010. They had three children, Donna Johnson, Joe W. Reid, Jr., "Bubba" and his wife Dorothy, and Douglas Reid. Jeanne was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. She was an avid sports fan and loved Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Jeanne retired from the City of Birmingham's Boutwell Auditorium where she worked for over 30 years.

Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, her brother, her husband and by eight dogs she loved in her lifetime, she was a true animal lover. She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Family and close friends are invited to the visitation beginning at 12 noon on Friday, January 8th, at Ridout's Valley Chapel located at 1800 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209. A funeral service will take place immediately after the visitation commencing at 1:00 p.m.
