

Jeffrey Chandler Busby Sr. son of Dr. and Mrs. Walter W. Busby passed away on April 6, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson's. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jeff graduated from the University of Virginia and participated in track, Lacrosse, the UVA Glee Club and Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. After this first taste of life in the south, Jeff and family moved to Birmingham for good. Jeff worked for US Steel, then founded a manufacturers rep business in the foundry and steel industry and ended his working career as a gemstone jeweler. After having experienced a mid life epiphany, Jeff joined "Big Brothers" with "Little Brother" Darius Price and helped organize a mentoring program for boys in Gate City called the "Rangers". This led to participation in the Curcillo ministry for christian men and the prison ministry Kiros. And finally, 9 years as co guardian of the Chapel of Our Savior at our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with his dear friend John O' Brian.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Walter W. Busby and sister, Cynie Busby.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife Gayle Busby; sisters Star Pendlay (Steve), Lee Orr (Jeff); children Lisa Busby Hingst (Jeff), Chandler Busby (Ginger), Brad Busby, Catherine Busby Herschleb (Cale); grandchildren, Nicolas Phillips , Charlotte Phillips, George Phillips, Mae Busby, Hayes Busby, Rory Busby, Diedre Busby, Henry Herschleb, Bo Herschleb, and Storey Herschleb; Step-children, Travis Eustice (Kimberly) and Shelly Scheinler (Greg); step-grandchildren, Taylor Grace Eustice, Emily Maye Eustice, Alexander Scheinler, Emelia Scheinler, and Finn Scheinler.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Our lady of Sorrows Catholic Church form 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 am. Father Franklin presiding.
