John Fleming

John was born April 11, 1942 in Taccoa, Georgia and moved to Atlanta when he was young. He attended Georgia Tech, Georgia State and DeVry, earning degrees in engineering and business. John began working for Perkin Elmer in 1985 and he was transferred from Atlanta to Birmingham where he remained after his retirement.

John is survived by Patricia Fleming , his wife of 44 years, brother Daniel Fleming and sisters Ruth Ann Fleming and Gay Bosland. He was preceded in death by his father , John Fleming Sr. and his mother Minnie Fleming.

John was a good man, a loving husband and a loyal and supportive friend. He was known for his quick wit and intellectual curiosity. John was empathetic and loved all animals which he expressed through the adoption and lifelong care of a number of animals in real need.

John will be deeply missed.

In accordance with John's wishes, there will not be a service or memorial. He will be privately remembered and honored by those who loved him.
