John McAllister

John Charles McAllister of Birmingham died on December 6, 2020 at the age of 74. He was a graduated of Woodlawn High School. After graduating John spent 3 summers on the staff of Ridgecrest. He was employed at Weatherford Printing Co. and Stephens Lumber Co. John received a 40 years pen for his works with the Lions Club. John had been involved with the food-clothing banks and started one in the City of Dora. He was a member of Seniors on the Move at Rigsby Mountain Park. After his health failed he moved to St. Martin's in the Pines and became active in the Episcopal services. He loved to sing.

John is survived by his mother Christine McAllister, brother Harry (Cheryl) McAllister, sister Marianne (Mike) Montalbano, nephews Tommy (Jessica) McAllister, Robert (Megan) McAllister and Lance (Kristen) Montalbano, nieces, Shelly (Nathan) Statton, Kelly (Brett) Avigliano and 13 great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ridout's Valley Chapel on Friday, December 11th beginning at 1:00 pm with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials be made to Mountain Brook Baptist Church or to St. Martin's in the Pines.
