

Joy Marie Adams Bloom was born October 23, 1939 in Mobile, Alabama, down the bay with her dog" Pudgy", 2 brothers and loving parents. She attended Bishop Toolen where she was SGA President of her class; she ventured off from Mobile, Alabama to attend the University of Alabama. She finished her academic endeavors with a Double Masters in Speech Therapy and Audiology, the 1st double in Alabama. Joy married Dr. James Pierce Bloom in 1964 and was a devoted wife, mother to 6 children, 12 grandchildren and several pets.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Claude “TC” Adams and Helen McCary Adams and her infant daughter Baby Bloom. She is survived by her husband of 51 ½ years: James Piece Bloom, sons: Jim Bloom, Christopher Bloom (Lori) and Mac Bloom (Rachael); daughters Helen Smith (Brad), Joy Wright (Will D.) and Bonnie Bloom (Brent); grandchildren: Sebastian, Maccabee, Ignatius, and Elijah (due July 28th) Bloom, Thomas, James and Jack Wright, Hannah, Claudia, Wyatt Bloom and Hoke , Sara Lane and Nicholas Smith. Joy is also survived by her brothers Cary Adams (Sherri) and Thomas Claude Adams, II
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with the memorial mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the columbarium.
All family and friends are invited to a reception following at 1120 Beacon Parkway East, Homewood, AL 35209 in the Party Room. Memorials may be sent to Eternal Word Television Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210.
