Joyce E. Kidd

Joyce Ezell Kidd, age 87 of Mountain Brook, born September 7, 1931, peacefully passed into heaven on Saturday, August 31st. She now joins her husband, Ben Kidd and son, Chris Kidd along with a host of family and friends. Her children, Sherie (Sonny) Hodges, Brad Kidd and Jody (Lisa Lorainne) Kidd, survive her. Her nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive her.

Joyce was born in Spartanburg, SC and later moved to Alabama where she met her husband, Ben Kidd. They were married 60 years and were long time members Briarwood Presbyterian Church.

Joyce was a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother whose kindness and compassion will always be remembered.

Her activities included volunteer charity work, attending and serving at church functions, spending time with family and friends at Lake Martin and the beach. She enjoyed cooking, reading and gardening (in her younger years). She was known to create many beautiful flower arrangements from the plants and flowers growing in her yard. Traveling to South Carolina to visit her family was something she always anticipated with much excitement. She deeply Cherished all her family and friends.

The family is grateful for the care and compassion given to her by Wendy Owens and many others involved in her care.

The family cordially invites friends to a visitation at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, September 9, 2019. A memorial service will follow at two o’clock at Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
