

Larry served in the United States Army and was a commissioned officer.
He was a businessman and entrepreneur, owning several businesses through the years. Larry was a leader and excelled, rising to the top of whatever organization he belonged.
He retired after 45 years in the long term health care business. He enhanced the quality of life for the elderly and their families.
Larry had a sense of adventure and a desire to see the world. He and his wife traveled extensively worldwide. He was a Paraplane pilot, licensed scuba diver, and Coast Guard certified master captain. He loved the water, fishing and boating. He was an active member of the Lake Guntersville Yacht Club. He enjoyed his friends at the YMCA coffee club and was a member of St. Mark UMC.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie Broughton Baird and his son, James Carson Baird.
Larry is survived by: his cherished wife, Donna Bass Baird, Son: Laurence A Baird, Jr. (Colleen), granddaughters, Allison Baird, Julianne Baird. Sister: Jean Marie Wilson, Nieces: Jennifer Snoke Stark (Brad), Michelle Snoke Oberheim (Greg), great niece and nephew, emerson Oberheim and Maverick Oberheim, extended family: Joseph Armon (Barbara), Irina Konovolova (Vasily and Stepan)
Funeral service will be 11:00 Friday, December 16, 2016 at Ridout's Valley Chapel, Homewood, AL. A reception will follow the service, at the funeral home, in the Edgewood Parlor.
