Lindsey Marie Waldrop, age 41, passed away on December 28, 2025 as the result of an accidental drug overdose. She was a mother, beloved daughter, and cherished friend whose life, though far too short, was filled with love, resilience, and deep care for those around her.
She took great pride in providing for herself and her son and building a future they could be proud of. In recent years, Lindsey worked tirelessly to better her life and the life of her son. She had just completed her degree in Diagnostic Medial Sonography, a milestone she was incredibly proud of, and had begun working in the field. She found purpose in caring for others through her work and was excited about the future she was creating.
Born on June 1, 1984 in Birmingham, AL, Lindsey was known for her kindness and warm personality and her determination to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges. Those who knew her admired her resilience and her compassionate heart.
She is survived by her son, Aiden Waldrop; father, Robert Waldrop; sister Caitlin Neeley (James); nephews, Easton and Rawlings Neeley and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Waldrop.
Lindsey’s passing is a reminder of the complexities of life and the importance of compassion, understanding, and support for those who struggle. Her family hopes she will be remembered not for how she died, but for her strength, her accomplishments, and the love she gave so freely.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Foundry Ministries (https://foundryministries.com) in her memory.
She will be forever loved, remembered, and missed.
Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205.879.3401) in Homewood.
