

ASH, MRS. MARGARET "PEGGY" GRIZZARD age 75 of Vestavia Hills, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George William "Bill" Ash; daughter, Michelle Ash Baskerville; son, William Randolph Ash (Lisa Marlene); granddaughter, Melanie Margaret Baskerville; aunt and uncle, Josephine and John Bradley; nephew, Michael Keith Adams; and cousin, Denny Trevarthen. A graduate of Ensley High School and member of the Zeta Kappa Phi Sorority, Peggy was a former member of The Sertoma Club. She was also formerly a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and presently a member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church. Peggy worked at Elmwood Cemetery from 1985 until 1998 assisting families with cemetery property. She then worked at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood beginning in 1998 serving as the prearrangement counselor until her retirement in 2009. A reception for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23rd at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church located at 2061 Patton Chapel Road in Hoover with entombment to immediately follow at Elmwood Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Denny Trevarthen, David Rowell, Roy Forman, Mike Adams, Shane Spicer, and Stephen Ulmer. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials honoring the life of Peggy Ash may be directed to St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church or to a charity of choice . Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (879-3401) located at 1800 Oxmoor Road in Homewood
