Margaret graduated from Mountain Brook High School, where she was the Captain of the Dorians Dance Team and member of Theta Kappa Delta sorority. Margaret loved to dance, and she spent over 15 years dancing for the Steeple Arts Academy of Dance. She completed her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University where she was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Following graduation, Margaret moved to Atlanta where she received a graduate degree from Georgia State University and taught 8th Grade Spanish. She moved back to Birmingham in 2011, where she worked for several non-profits over the years.
Margaret was a member of Holiday Assembly, and she was the Queen of the Beaux Arts Krewe in 1998. She was presented at several debutante balls including the Redstone Ball, Ball of Roses, and the Chattanooga Cotton Ball.
Margaret was known for her big heart, infectious laugh, loyalty and affection for her family and friends. She was also a die-hard Alabama football fan, and one of her favorite things to do was to host friends and family at her home on Saturdays in the fall. Family was always very important to Margaret, especially her daughter, Addie. She also found a common bond and the love of her life in Dave, who treasures Addie just as much. The three of them spent countless vacations on the beach in Ponte Vedra, one of their favorite places in the world. Margaret was adored by her family, cherished by many close friends, and she will be greatly missed beyond measure.
A visitation will be held at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 A.M. with an 11:00 service to follow.
