

She was a long-time member of St. Mary's-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church where she enjoyed participating in the Bible studies. Marion was a Sunday School teacher, when her daughters were young, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She loved serving as a girl scout leader, playing bridge, enjoyed her supper club and Civietes Dance Club. Marion was an avid reader and was a member of the Argus book club. Her dedication to others was shown through her volunteer work with disabled children over the years. Marion was also an active member of the Children of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames. Her inherent love of animals was apparent as she worked as a wildlife rehabilitator for years.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Agee Plylar and a daughter Carolyn Plylar McKenzie. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Plylar Angell and Marion Plylar Webb, her grandchildren, Meredith Lodge McKenzie, James Thomas McKenzie, Laurel de Launey Angell, Jonathan Paul Angell, Thomas Agee Webb, William Ward Webb and Marion Hanlin Webb and her niece Ann Plylar Cornelius.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at St. Mary's-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church beginning at 10:15 a.m. with the Celebration of Life service following at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary's-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, University of Alabama National Alumni Association, James Agee Plylar Scholarship Fund, University of Alabama National Alumni Association, Percy Newton Plylar Scholarship Fund, or a charity of your choice.
