
Born in Birmingham October 19, 1918, died at home at the age of 93 on September 10, 2012. Mrs. McCullough was the daughter of Thomas Jasper Kidd and Jessie Ewing Hamilton Kidd. Educated in the public schools of Birmingham, Mrs. McCullough graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was a member of the Birmingham Débutante Club 1939-40, was presented at the Redstone Club and later was a member of the Ballerina Club and Civiettes. She was an active community volunteer and served a term on the State Board of the Department of Human Resources. She was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church almost from its inception.
Married to Robert Frederick McCullough on October 16, 1943, they had five children who became her full time job.
Mrs. McCullough was predeceased by her husband of sixty years; her second child, Susan Kidd McCullough Juneman, as well as three brothers and a sister. She is survived by four children, Kathryn McCullough Harwood(Bernard) of Tuscaloosa; Robert F. McCullough, Jr. (Debby Crow) of Mountain Brook; Margaret McCullough Tucker (Bill) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and William Tyson McCullough of Baldwin County, Alabama. Also surviving are six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, all of whom were her joy, as well as twenty-one nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at one o’clock, Ridout’s Valley Chapel directing. A memorial service will be held later at St. Martins in the Pines where, for four years, Mrs. McCullough resided and was known for her spunk and talent for telling a joke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mrs. McCullough may be sent to Canterbury United Methodist Church for Fair Haven’s “Fountain of Love”.
