

Age 84 passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born on September 27, 1927, the youngest of three children born to Leo and Pearl Lesinski.
Pat is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter W. Opanowicz, three daughters, Tina Landry (Austin), of Homewood, Alabama, Marcia Kossak (Bob), of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and Judith Potter (Randy), of Monticello, Minnesota. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Thomas Landry, Patricia Landry Johnson (Jason), Sarah Kossak-Gupta (Shounak), Laura Kossak Wood (Michael), Amanda Potter, Andrea Potter, and Randolph “RJ” Potter, and two great-grandchildren, Jayden Landry and Everett Johnson. She is also survived by her brother Tom Lesinski and her sister, Phyllis Paruk.
She was an alumna of the College of Art & Design, and, early in life, was a fashion illustrator for a Detroit area department store. After her marriage to Walter, she became a homemaker, raising her three daughters. However, she did not abandon her artistic talents such as sewing and painting. Throughout her lifetime, she continued to paint, including various media including canvas, ceramic, and fine china.
Visitation will take place at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama on Tuesday, January 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
